Default E/Wa Build

Haven't had a lot of playing time lately, however I have had a lot of thinking time I came up with this build a little while ago for a E/Wa and I am looking for some critique. ;p
Very basic but perhaps expandable?

Attributes: Energy Storage - 10, Fire Magic - 10, Swordsmanship - 11

Skills (No particular order)
Conjure Flame
Phoenix
Mark of Rodgort
Inferno
Final Thrust
Galrath Slash
Pure Strike
Savage Slash

Basic goal: Deal out as much damage as possible with the energy available.

Long live making up builds while watching NCAA championship game

Prophecies only btw =)

Ele = Caster armor = 60AL = Squishy...very..very...squishy, you don't wanna be front lining with only 60 armor.

Even with Prophecies only skills im sure you could muster up abit more damage than that.

Perhaps go with Fire 12, Energy 10, Water 8, and then freeze your enemies, then stick aload of fire magic ontop of them.

How about a full fire build:

[skill]fire attunement[/skill][skill]fire storm[/skill][skill]fireball[/skill][skill]meteor[/skill][skill]glyph of lesser energy[/skill][skill]rodgort's invocation[/skill][skill]searing heat[/skill][skill]meteor shower[/skill]

Ok, with Fire 12, Energy 10, and Water 8, what prophecies skills would one recommend to go with that. And if this were to happen, what would be the ideal second profession. Im thinking monk or mesmer.

12 fire 12 energy

12 water 12 energy

got it ?

I don't play ele but I could make you a fire build, but I'm sure it would include non-prophecies skills.
pvxwiki.com for ele builds.

Also ele with sword = no. Even if you were going to try that, and I did once get ganked horribly by an ele with daggers, that's a rather bad selection of sword attacks.

Just buy the X packs jeez they cost like not any money.

------------

[Savannah heat][immolate][glowing gaze][rodgort's invocation][glyph of sacrifice][meteor shower][teinai's heat][fire attunement]

[Searing flames][glowing gaze][rodgort's invocation][teinai's heat][searing heat][glyph of lesser energy][meteor shower][fire attunement]

[rodgort's invocation][glowing gaze][immolate][searing heat][glyph of lesser energy][meteor shower][elemental attunement][fire attunement]

Anyone who actually plays elementalist have suggestions ?

Basically there are 2 types of nukes: Big area effect ones with a long recharge / big e cost (anything with the word heat in it, meteor shower), and small spammable ones (immolate, searing flames).

The glyphs are interchangeable, pve builds probably don't need glyph of sacrifice (as it's to keep meteor shower from being interrupted - if pvpers see you casting for 3+ seconds they ALL know what you're doing and will hit you).

I've seen so many builds that despite only playing warrior I can make a pretty good build for any class. These are sort of intended for alliance battle (because that's where I see 20 ele builds per day) but they'll probably work better for pve than a pve build.

Also the third build with dual attunements is entirely core/prophs skills except for glowing gaze, which could easily be switched out as it's an energy management skill and dual attunement builds don't run out of energy ......

60AL does not make a good Frontliner. Your face will be ripped off and eaten quite a few times.

If you want to, carry a Fiery Spear and at least get some range off of your attacks. Don't worry about a Paragon secondary, you don't care about Spear skills or base damage, [Conjure [email protected]] will add decent damage to auto-attacks with a Fiery weapon, and it will cause enemies hexed w/ Mark of Rodgort to burn, taking DoT.

But to be honest, you are an Elementalist - a caster. Cast spells, don't run up to the enemy Frontline and swing a sword at them - they do it better than you can, and when they do, it's gonna hurt.

Ele's don't belong in melee. EVER. Not with Conjure X, not with armor spells, EVER. But I think the reason why you resorted to melee in the first place is because you ran out of energy...

[fire attunement] would help you greatly in longer fights, resulting in more spells cast, eg more damage. Also, get an Elite skill. Proph-only is kinda limiting but [elemental attunement] is really strong, especially since both attunements stack - you can fill up on strong Fire spells and never have to worry about energy.

The third bar Lux posted is close to what I'd suggest - you obviously can't take [glowing gaze] but dual attune doesn't need it anyway; you're better off with [rebirth] or [resurrection signet].

I just don't see this working out. With the build you're running, adrenaline is all you really need. [[Mark of Rodgort] along with a Fiery mod seems nice, but is not really worth losing 20AR, and the ability of armor penetration as a front-liner to Energy Storage. To me, it is not ingenious- just silly.
